Ket-Ralus: Dragon Tales request, for AquinGator Post Date (GMT): 2009-01-22 17:11:53
Based on the Sky Soccer episode in Dragon Tales, El Pie and Quetzal decide to give Ord some special practice.
This is drawn as a request from AquinGator, as part of a special offer.
My alternative title was "Dragon Tailholes", but I decided to go with something less ambiguous. Aquin told me which characters to draw, gave the description, and specified just about everything you see these three doing in this picture, including the spooge everywhere.
I feel bad because the request started a year and a half ago. I slacked on it partially because I knew it was "just" a request, but I was also just a terrible procrastinator. Not to say that I am no longer that way, but I'm trying not to be! Well, to be kinda fair, I did start work on it back in 2007. However, I didn't finish a real sketch until November of 2008 (I took a break afterward to work on my character model sheets). I used these last several days leading up to today to ink and color.
This was a challenging picture to draw. I'm not used to drawing characters of this size; I had a heck of a time trying to position the three. With so much spooge to be drawn everywhere, I was afraid I would make it look too homogeneous or fake. I still have high doubts that Ord's head looks correct for the angle at which it should be. I also have doubts about other perspective issues. Oh, and I improvised with the background... tried somewhat to capture the watercolor style I saw in some official art, but I apparently know nothing about watercolors.
In the end, I feared that my picture might not have Aquin's approval, but thankfully it isn't the case. =}
BlueVmon: This is a fantastic pic! I can honestly say your art is still improving over time. I especially love the detail of the tails! You really are becoming a fantastic artist Ket.
Ket-Ralus: Well thank you very much! Hopefully by drawing more frequently, I can improve my skills at a quicker pace.
lombs: I love this one -so- much, Ket! I found this one by pure chance over at r34, and was
pleasantly surprised to see you were the genius behind it. Hence, I thought I'd drop
by and show my appreciation in person. ;)
Seriously though, multiple chubs + big, [gay] dragons <3 It couldn't get any better imo!
Ket-Ralus: I'm surprised you hadn't seen this before, but thanks for the glowing comment. =}
There's also another nice one with El Pie and Quetzal, featuring Arlo. Perhaps you've already seen it?
I know I should feel a tad bit guilty for fawning over cartoons aimed at children, but considering how
surprisingly much there is to see of Dragon Tales, r34-wise, it seems I am not the only one with this
mentality. And after all, we live in the age of the internet, where basically anything and everything
has, or will have, some sort of mature material[s] based on it. And I couldn't be happier!
Ket-Ralus: I just looked up the pic you're referring to. Seems it was also done for AquinGator. Anyway, I'm not very interested in these characters.
Cartoons aimed at children are still created by adults. We have the right to pervert them!
Ket, you don't happen to have a bigger version of this pic, do you? ;)
Ket-Ralus: There are no bigger versions. This is the original resolution in which it was drawn. Sorry!
lombs: That is a shame to hear, since it has so much delicious detailing not visible to the
naked eye. But, alas, it is what it is, and I still love it. So don't worry 'bout it,
Ket. :)
Also, speaking of chubby, gay dragons; http://rule34-data-000.paheal.net/_images/8c90295f7959ce4c60b8ab2c8276432c/710487%20-%20Fennec%20Kingsley%27s_Adventure%20Snuff_the_Dragon.jpg
It's that pleasant fella from my "(s)laying the dragon" drawing, and surely something
in your taste, or so I would imagine. It has brought me much "joy", countless of time.
Something about his plump physique is just... mmm ~ <3
lombs: I take it you took a likin' to him, Ket? :b ;)
Speaking of sexy reptilian fella, you don't happen to like Bowser Jr, do you, K?
While I don't consider myself a "shota chaser", I do fully admit to enjoying the
occasional "shota" character from time to time, and Bowser Junior, is definitely
one of them. In my mind, he's just as sexy as he is cute.
Ket-Ralus: That dragon is pretty nice, though I actually prefer how you drew him over Fennec's rendition.
Bowser Jr.'s OK, but I don't think I've ever fancied him.
lombs: Well, that's mostly because I stuck to how he was drawn in the game's concept art,
rather then his in-game rendition. He looked quite menacing and unflattering in the game,
which sadly didn't compliment his very appealing artwork, hence my choice of reference was
obvious. As for Fennec, he has a unique style to his works, and I try to choose commissions
that would suit his style the best, and in which his cartoony artistry would really shine.
While I think he did a superb work in this case, I'm very flattered you liked my rendition
of good ol' Snuff so much! It means a lot to me, Ket. (:
As for Bowser Junior, I think he's one sexy lil' rascal! Probably one of the few underage
characters that I really enjoy, alongside such as Vivi, Prince Tricky (from the Star Fox
series) etc.
