Argon Vile and I had some oC fun. He pulled out his demon from the black tank picture, and decided to give him a crash course in homoeroticism. I whipped up a demon creature of my own (orange guy at top left), and Argon made him more bug-like. I like to call him my marmalade shrimp. Mmmm.

Argon's character dialog and story progression is excellent. I mean, that's typical of him, but this case in particular is worth the mention. The rotated letters and horned dialog bubble for the red demon's speech seals the deal. Man I love that red demon. So cute! And when we get to the final panels, that's the highlight of everything.

Argon drew most of this, but I did B1, B3, B4, and D1. Think of the picture as an Excel spreadsheet and you'll understand my coordinates.

I got in oC with Celestial late last night to draw something of his request. His tablet wasn't working, so he mostly just watched me draw, but he enjoyed himself. As you can see, Ket is having fun with his little teddy bear guest.

Have I done this angle before? I feel it's challenging to attempt, so I wanted to try it. I think I drew some parts too straight forward. I want to try new poses and push myself. I hope I don't subconsciously fall back on the same stuff too much.

<ins datetime="2009-12-28T08:09:51+00:00">NOTICE: The image above is the old, unfinished version. Click here to see the new, finished version.</ins>

This is what I spent the last three weeks working on. Let me say now that this image is only 25% of the size that my working file is (in each dimension), so I have a more detailed version not shown here. Back on track, this is the nude model sheet for Brask Vovik; a character you should all be familiar with by now (though this is the first time I've revealed his second name). This is marked as unfinished because I would like to do an in-depth color job, making it all clean and pretty. However, I'm not sure I will have time to do this, at least before FurCon. I still need to do a clothed model sheet of Brask as well. But first, I need to get started on Ket...

So, why exactly did I do this? Well, I wanted to have official references for my characters. Sure, I have some pictures that could serve as references, but they are mostly outdated. For example, in the original nude Brask pic, the arms are too thick, the navel is too high, there is some ambiguous penis definition, the leg shapes are odd, the feet are much too small, the toe sizes are identical, etc. Not to mention, it doesn't show other important angles and states.

This was a good exercise in anatomy, and it helped me to finalize the details of Brask, at least for several years to come. However, there are concerns still on my mind as I release this: the feet may still need to be shorter and/or bigger, the genitals may be positioned incorrectly on side view, I couldn't find a way to show Brask's teeth without making it look weird (yes, he has big round teeth), obligatory rotational perspective and foreshortening issues, and other stuff I'm sure I'm forgetting to mention.

I've been working here-and-there over the last year to put together a new set of clothing for Brask. There is a reason for the design of several aspects, which I may explain when it's finished. For now, I'll just mention that the gauntlet, storage crystal, and boots are all arks (previously called "relics"), the cape is a symbol of arkmage status, and everything else is simple clothing. If you're wondering what all this "ark" nonsense is, it's part of a story I'm working on that involves all of my main characters, and you can learn some of it by reading Brask's character page.

Things to fix: Make sure the gauntlet can be taken off and put on (there is a bottleneck around the wrist). Allow the claws to be retracted in order for Brask to clench his fist. Give Brask a more battle-ready face. Remove some of the symmetry where applicable.

After all that's done, I still need to clean up the lines, color it, and then do the side and back views! But first, I'm going to start working on suiting up Ket (which I already have plans for); he really needs a new wardrobe.

I was oCing with Argon Vile, and he drew a couple of these guys. I have no idea what prompted him to do this, but I loved it. I always thought the Metools were cute, and the idea of porn crossed my mind a few times in the past, so at this point I had to draw some of my own. He later joined in on the fun and turned my Met sex into a whole scene. What an awesome guy!

Two Breath of Fire II characters. Another really rough sketch, but I feel I may be at the end of the road with this one. The first concept drawing was done almost three years ago, but this is almost completely redrawn on the spot. This is another one of those things that pile up on my hard disk.

...Well, not in general, but I certainly made out with a few good pieces of turtle artwork.

1. "Ket badge" by Pawkio

Pawkio is an upcoming artist. He was selling badge commissions for bargain basement prices. He had a book of illustrations on the table for a card game he is developing and I liked the cartoony style. Though I don't want to pigeonhole his illustrations, I will say that they were reminiscent of John Kovalic's Munchkin art. My friends got badges from him, and I decided to do the same.

Unlike previous art you've seen of Ket, I am no longer using the original outfit design. Instead, I'm having artists design their own outfit for Ket, at least until I can decide on my own new "default" for him. Pawkio came up with a really cool outfit design for Ket here. He also gave Ket a couple weapons, which is useful for all the exploring and adventuring.

I feel bad because Pawkio left before I could pay him. He managed to get the badge to me through Ajinryu, but I couldn't get the money to him. He said it's a freebie, but I feel I still owe him something. So, go check out his page and stuff! Thanks, Pawkio. =}

2. "Ket badge" by Ajinryu

I've known about Ajin since before I even started drawing porn. I haven't kept up with his work over time, but back then he drew a comic called Misadventures etc. The highlight of the comic was Ajin's own character, Ajinryu, a small lavender dragon who is rather fuckable if I may say so (though I've never seen any porn of him). Well, Ajin's art quality has advanced a lot over the years. He has a very cute, clean style, so I decided it would be cool to have Ket drawn by him. The cost was a bit steep, but I'm satisfied with the result. Nice work, Ajin!

3. "Surfin' Seaturtle" by Ferality Illustration

This picture is a bit of a rarity on my site, because it's not a gift or a commission. I wasn't at all involved in its creation. However, I did purchase the original painting at the art show! I have it hanging up in my room right now. I make a point of posting art of which I own the originals (assuming it's a traditional art piece), because I like to show off cool things I pick up.

Just look at the detail on this thing! The composition and character design are excellent, and the colors are intense. Do I need to say more? How about that it was featured as a Daily Deviation on DA. This painting looks even better in person, since you get the subtle texture of paint strokes, as well as additional detail. Definitely keep up the turtle art, Ferality! =}

This is my half of the art trade with Argon done at FC last month. He wanted Spinies, and I figured that if I'm going to draw Spinies, I may as well include the ringleader. I asked Glenn for drawing ideas, and he mentioned the cloud, so I drew the cloud checking out the action in a mirror. The action between Lakitu and the Spinies was inspired by a sketch I did last year.

I like the activities I portrayed here but I'm not super happy with my drawing quality. This is actually the last thing I drew at FC, so perhaps I was getting burnt out at this point. I want to keep drawing these characters and build up practice so that I can render them with greater ease.

P.S. I just realized that it looks like Lakitu is sidetalking with a Spiny.
